I love using keyboard shortcuts for functions I use all the time, like zooming in and out. But, what if you want to set the wheel on your mouse to zoom in and out?

Fortunately, in Affinity you can. In the video above I will show you how in Publisher, but it works the same in Designer as well.

On a Mac:

Go to the Affinity Publisher word in the top left corner of your screen, right next to the Apple symbol (orange arrow in screenshot).

Click on Preferences.

From the Preferences menu, click Tools.

Look for the option “Use Mouse Wheel to Zoom” and click the box to add a check mark next to it. This turns it on. Click again to remove the checkmark to turn it back off.

That’s it, now the wheel on your mouse can be used to zoom in and out.

Find Preferences on a Mac under the Affinity Publisher menu (orange arrow) and under Edit (yellow circle) on a PC

On a PC:

Go to the Edit menu (yellow circle in first screenshot) and scroll to Preferences.

From here, the steps are the same as for a Mac:

Tools–>Use Mouse Wheel to Zoom.

That’s it.

Customizing your workspace in a way that makes sense to you will speed up your workflows.

Oh, and want those keyboard shortcuts instead?

On a Mac:

CMD plus the +/= key to zoom in

CMD plus the hyphen/underscore key to zoom out.

On a PC:

CTRL plus the +/= key to zoom in

CTRL plus the hyphen/underscore key to zoom out.
